Performace-Based Physical Rehab
At Kinetic Sports Medicine & Rehab, we use rehab exercises to help athletes and active individuals in Centennial, CO and the surrounding Denver area recover from injuries, rebuild strength, improve mobility, and return to the activities they enjoy. Our exercise-based approach is designed around your specific injury, movement patterns, activity level, and goals.
What Is Physical Rehab?
Rehabilitation exercises are targeted movements designed to help restore strength, mobility, stability, coordination, and function following an injury or period of inactivity. Rather than simply resting an injured area, appropriate exercise can help your body gradually regain the strength and control needed to return to normal activities.
Rehab exercises can range from simple mobility movements to progressive strengthening and sport-specific exercises. The right exercises depend on the individual and the stage of recovery. What is appropriate early in the recovery process may be very different from what is needed when you’re preparing to return to your sport or normal activity.
At Kinetic Sports Medicine & Rehab, we focus on selecting exercises that address the specific factors contributing to your symptoms and movement limitations. We also teach you how to perform each exercise properly so you can build strength and confidence throughout the recovery process.
What Can Rehab Exercises Help With?
Rehab exercises can be incorporated into treatment for a wide range of injuries, movement limitations, and performance goals. They may help with:
- Sports and overuse injuries
- Muscle strains and joint injuries
- Strength and stability deficits
- Limited mobility and flexibility
- Balance and coordination
- Recovery following an injury
- Movement dysfunction
- Return-to-sport preparation
- Injury prevention
- Improving overall physical performance
For athletes, rehabilitation exercises can help bridge the gap between feeling better and being ready to return to full activity. Simply being free from pain does not always mean the body has regained the strength, mobility, coordination, or control needed for demanding physical activity.
A progressive exercise program can help rebuild those qualities and prepare your body for the specific demands of your sport, hobby, or daily activities.
How We Use Rehab Exercises
At Kinetic Sports Medicine & Rehab, we don’t believe in handing every patient the same list of exercises. As part of your evaluation, we look at your movement, strength, mobility, symptoms, and individual goals to determine which exercises are appropriate for you.
Your program may begin with basic mobility or activation exercises and gradually progress toward more challenging strength, stability, balance, or sport-specific movements. As your body adapts, we can adjust your exercises to continue challenging you and moving you toward your goals.
Rehab exercises may also be combined with other treatments such as sports chiropractic care, dry needling, soft tissue therapy, and mobility work. Combining hands-on treatment with targeted exercise allows us to address both how you feel and how your body is functioning.
Our goal is to help you become an active participant in your recovery. We want you to understand what you’re doing, why you’re doing it, and how it will help you return to the activities you enjoy.
